Sue Maxwell Nichols

Sue Maxwell Nichols passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Wauchula, Florida at the age of 76. The daughter of Robert Rex Maxwell and Mary Francis (Bryan) Maxwell. She was born on January 7, 1947 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Sue worked as an office coordinator at Helena Chemical and had been a resident of Florida for 65 years, having come from Key West. She was a member of Real Life Community Church and a lifelong mentor and leader in the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed  participating in the local passion plays, including The Story of Jesus. She loved nature, the Florida Keys, the beach, time at the pool, and, most of all, she adored her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; sons, DJ Ward (Denise); Robert Ward (Amy); Max Baker (Stacy);  Richard L. Nichols (Latasha); Also surviving are 13 beautiful grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert M, Maxwell and a sister Linda Ann Yawn. A Celebration of Life to be held at Northside Baptist Church, Wauchula, FL, Saturday, July 15th at 3 pm.
