Winnell B. Mitchell Griffith

Winnell B. Mitchell Griffith, age 83 passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Avon Park, Florida from COPD. She was born in Jackson County, Alabama on January 1, 1930 to Streety S. and Beulah Alice (Sargent) Beam. Mrs. Griffith was a fruit grader for Ben Hill Griffin, of the Baptist faith and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1952 coming from Jackson County, Alabama. She is survived by her children-Jim Waylon Mitchell (Maria) of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Melba Barrientoz (Vince) of Avon Park, Florida, Nancy K. Mitchell of Sebring, Florida and Angie Mitchell Smith Bills (Geoff) of Haines City, Florida; step-children-Deborah Alfonso (Paul) of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Linda Vaughn of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Roger Griffith (Norma) of Zephyrhills, Florida and Barbara Holbrook (Dean) of Wesley Chapel, Florida; sister-Dr. Ann L. Beam of Sylvania, Alabama; 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her first husband-James Ray Mitchell and her second husband-Ronald Griffith. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Adams officiating.
