Wilma C. Smith

Wilma C. Smith, age 86, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 in Wauchula, FL. She was born on March 8, 1930 in Sebring, FL to the late Jim and Annie (Mitchell) Carnes. Wilma has been a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avon Park. She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Wendell M. Smith; son: Winston (Linda) Smith of Wauchula, FL; daughters: Marilyn (Jimmie) Best of Bowling Green, FL; Kim (Monk) Roberts of Wauchula, FL; four grandchildren: Adam Montsdeoca; Ashleigh (David) Swinford; Rhett (Cara) Smith; Sidney Roberts; and five great-grandchildren: Carson Montsdeoca; Ty Montsdeoca; Riley Swinford; Will Swinford; and Wyatt Smith. Wilma was preceded in death by her grandson: Tyler Carnes Roberts. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Avon Park with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Hart Cemetery in Wauchula, FL.
