Wilma Joyce Durham

Wilma Joyce Durham, age 76 passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her home in Avon Park. She was born April 1, 1933 to Raymond and Lucinda (Witt) Gill in Bridgeport, Alabama. She was a clerk in retail sales. She was an amazing woman, who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing how kind and thoughtful she was. She was the centerpiece to our family puzzle that held us together in her strength and love and we will be lost without her. She is survived by her husband of 61 years-Nathaniel Durham; daughters-Cathy Ragan and Gwen Durham; grandchildren-Tina Nelson, Michael Glass and Jennifer Glass; great grandchildren-Zachary Ragan and Tristan Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Gill and Cindy Witt Gill, sisters, Betty Sweat, Vera Haynes and Janice Hatton, brother-Raymond Gill and her beloved son, Jimmy Durham. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, Florida. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
