Willie Frank Lumpkin

Willie Frank Lumpkin, known to many by the name Frank, was born March 3 ^rd , 1949, in Shellman, GA to the parents of Theodis and Millanee Lumpkin. Frank passed away on September 2, 2022, in Sebring, FL at the age of 73 to a long battle of lung cancer. Frank received a child-hood education in Miami, FL and went on to graduate from the Illustrious Miami Northwestern High School in 1968. Not long after, he married his high-school sweetheart and together in union they created two beautiful children, Kerri Alicia Lumpkin who has since preceded him in death and Chaundra Dione Lumpkin.

From 1968 to 1979 Frank dedicated his life and passion to serving the United States Air Force where he was later honored as a Lieutenant Sergeant. Not long after his service he went on to work as an aircraft mechanic at Eastern Airlines Inc for over fifteen years.

Frank enjoyed listening to Afrocentric jazz in the kitchen while cooking meals that warmed the belly of his family, reminiscing of the places he traveled and dined while stationed, daydreaming on the new memories he planned to create in the future and working on carpeting projects which led him playing a major part in building the foundation of one of Miami’s largest successions, the Miami, Ft. Lauderdale airport and even a Florida home that he built for his family brick by brick by his bare hands.

He leaves behind daughter Chaundra Lumpkin, grandchildren Rashad Lumpkin and Chyann Bowe, Siblings Earl Lumpkin (Corra), Jesse Lumpkin (Joyce), Betty Lumpkin (Earnest), Melvin Lumpkin (Rhonda), Ray Lumpkin and a loving list of nieces and nephews.

One of his favorite quotes “The fight isn’t over until God says so” and even then, his love and unimaginable strength continues to live forever within the hearts of his loved ones.
