Willie Kate Grantham, age 99, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Coffee County, Alabama on September 20, 1914 to Fletcher H. and Annie (Merritt) Jordan. She was a homemaker, charter member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and had been a resident of Highlands County since 1957 coming from Hardee County. Mrs. Grantham is survived by her daughters-Maxine Byrd of Orlando, Florida, Nancy Davis (Sidney) of Avon Park, Florida, Ethel Fuller (Dennis) of Sebring, Florida and Betty Jones (Fred) of Sebring, Florida; sons-Calvin Grantham (Margaret) of North Carolina, Ray Grantham (Glory) of Crystal River, Florida and Jack Grantham (Gloria) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughters-in-law-Evie Grantham of Wauchula, Florida and Geraldine Grantham of Sebring, Florida; 34 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren and 36 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by her husband-Harvey A. Grantham; sons-Harvey Grantham and Benny Grantham, Sr.; daughters-Mary Pauline Grantham and Annie Laura Shields; sons-in-law-Fin Byrd, Mort Jackson, Sr. and Clarney Shields and grandsons-David Grantham and Wayne Byrd. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6210 Mt. Pisgah Road, Fort Meade, Florida 33841 with funeral services to begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Geren and Calvin Grantham officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
