William Toy Shoemaker

William “Bill” Shoemaker, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born on June 10, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Jesse Warren and Kate May (Wheelock) Shoemaker.  Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He moved to Sebring in 2004 from Littleton, Massachusetts and was a member of the St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Sebring, Florida.  He was a former member of the Rotary International, served on the vestry at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, volunteered at Florida Hospital Heartland, enjoyed golfing and enjoyed following sports.  Survivors include his wife: Margaret “Meg” Shoemaker-Sebring, Florida; daughter: Kimberlee Michaud (Joe)-AK; son: Jay Shoemaker (Nancy)-NC; sisters: Ellen Slack-MA; Mabel Harris-MA; five grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Sebring, Florida with Father Scott Walker officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Episcopal Church, 3840 NW Lakeview Dr., Sebring, FL  33870 www.stagnessebring.com
