William Mckinley Peterson, Sr.

On, April 13, 2024, our Heavenly Father summoned William McKinley Peterson, Sr., from his earthly home.  He is now resting in the arms of the Lord, free from the pain and suffering of the world.

William M. Peterson, Sr.,was born to the late Leroy and Delsie A. Peterson, in Defuniak Springs, Florida.

At an early age he became a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church. After attending E. O. Douglas High School, he enlisted in the Army. He retired as a Corporal who specialized in Demolition. He was employed as a Master Truss Builder for 50 years at Butler & Still Lumber, Co.  Mr. Peterson, who was affectionately known as ‘Lil Pete’ and ‘Mr. G.Q., was a passionate and caring man!!!

He married Lee Bertha,  on March 15, 1957; under their union four children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his beloved wife, Lee Bertha (deceased); all of his loving children; daughters-in-law; sons-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchildren;
Sisters: Elnora Claitt(Avon Park); Ethel Mae Tatum(deceased); Rosa Lee and Percy Lee Peterson (deceased); brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws and a host of nieces; nephews and cousins.
