WILLIAM L. O'BRIEN William L. O'Brien, age 82, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, in Sebring. He was born May 12, 1930, to John and Iola (Nicely) O'Brien in Gas City, Indiana, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1993, coming from Gas City. He was an Assistant Supervisor for a Glass Company, of the Christian faith, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a radioman from 1951-1954. He was a member of Ridge Road Runners Motorcycle Club and Retreads, both of Highlands County and Quarter Century Club in Owens, IL. He served as a Little League Umpire and a basketball Referee for many years. He is survived by his children, Karen Hart and Michael O'Brien; brother, John (Sandra) O'Brien; niece, Jackie (Ron) Tutorow and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Sebring, with W. Mike Adams officiating. The family will receive friends the hour preceding the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
