passed away at his home, September 2, 2015. He was born October 11, 1936 in Mahanoy Plane, Pennsylvania. Bill is survived by his loving family, wife Nancy, son, L. Torrey Galida (Cathy), daughter, Jennifer Linnekin (Richard), three grandchildren, Hannah Murray; Lauren Galida and Jack Galida, also sisters, Dorothy Wochak and Katherine Koropchak. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Galida and his beloved son, William Todd Galida, brothers, Michael and John Galida. Bill graduated from Gilberton High School, and then entered the United States Air Force where he served four years. He was stationed at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. During this time he met his wife Nancy. Bill attended the University of South Dakota and after college his first job was with Hallmark Cards. Bill continued his career as a sales representative and later worked as a district manager for Revlon Cosmetics. He also owned and operated a Hallmark Card Gift Shop and Candle Store. Bill started a candle factory and had his candles in the major grocery stores in Colorado. While living in Colorado Bill enjoyed the mountains where he went trout fishing. He traveled the states of Colorado; New Mexico; Wyoming; Montana and Utah with his job. Bill operated a sewing factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for ten years. After that he went into property management working for Chateau Communities after four years in Elkridge, Maryland he and his wife were transferred to Avon Park to manage Crystal Lake Club. He retired in 2004. Bill loved Crystal Lake Club and continued to live there. He enjoyed playing golf, reading and traveling to all fifty states plus Mexico and many European Countries. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 69 where he served on the executive board for several terms. He was very active and helped raise money for the auxiliary and the post. During the last year he was a member of Post 8 in Winter Haven. He was also a member of the men's auxiliary at the Sebring VFW and was a member of the Sebring Elks. Bill and Nancy celebrated their 56th anniversary on August 29th. Bill will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends. There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday, November 7, 2015, 11:00am, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park and a celebration of his life at Crystal Lake Club on Saturday, November 7th at 2:00pm.
