Wesley F. Newsome

Wesley Newsome, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Avon Park, Florida. Mr. Newsome was born in Statesboro, Georgia on November 6, 1936 to James Hubert and Luree (Fordham) Newsome. Mr. Newsome was a Plant Engineer, member of the First Baptist Church in Avon Park, served in the United States Navy. Mr. Newsome grew up in Avon Park and graduated from Avon Park High School in 1955, he was a past member of the Lions Club and past coach of Little League Baseball in Avon Park. He is survived by his wife-Linda Newsome of Avon Park, Florida; son-Wesley Newsome, Jr. (Renae) of Avon Park, Florida; step-son-Lee Trigg (Melissa) of Aledo, Texas; step-daughter-Tina Thompson (Jamie) of Avon Park, Florida; sister-Jewellene Sullivan (Matthew) of Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren-Lucas, Alex, Abby, Austin, Taylor, Kyle, Weston, Andrew, Connor and Emma; 3 great grandchildren-Alexis, Bradley and Conner. Mr. Newsome was preceded in death by his parents-James Hubert & Luree (Fordham) Newsome; daughter-Lisa Bullard; brothers-James Newsome and Delmas Newsome and a sister-Waldyne Fletcher. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Avon Park with Rev. Jon Beck and Rev. Lee Trigg officiating.
