Wera Mercedes Johnson

Wera Mercedes Johnson, age 89, went to be with her Lord on February 8, 2025, in Sebring, Florida. Wera was born on August 11, 1935, in Wing, Alabama to her loving parents, James H. and Lila M. Johnson (Stokes). She has been a resident of Avon Park since 1975 coming from Wauchula, Florida. She was a member of the Union Church and the Eastern Star Organization. She worked at the Highlands County Tax Collectors office and was a beloved and valued member of the community.
Wera is preceded in passing by her Parents, Husband; Jerry Gordon Smith, grandson; Cory Lee Smith, and three brothers.
She is survived by her children; Mary Valerie Lee (Lloyd) – Avon Park, FL, Jerry R. Smith – Avon Park, FL, and brother; Theo Johnson – Port St. Joe, FL.
Wera was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
