Wanda Snyder, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on July 30, 1948 in Avon Park, Florida, the daughter of Herman Clifford and Wansley Eileen (Culpepper) Singletary. Wanda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She liked to cook, enjoyed crafting, gospel music, and vacationing in West Virginia. Wanda was a teacher, where she taught at Sebring High School, as well as Spots Wood high school in West Virginia before she returned and taught at Avon Park Correctional Institution. She also taught a brief period of time at South Florida Community College. Wanda was a lifelong resident of Highlands County outside of the year she spent in West Virginia. Wanda was of Christian faith. She is survived by her sons – Steven Snyder and Timothy (Tammy) Johns; brother – Kenneth Gary (Fawn) Singletary and sister – Diana Kay (Robert) King. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren – Beverly Elizabeth Johns (Justin Daniels), Carrie Elizabeth Snyder, Matthew Steven Snyder, and Dawn LeyAnn Johns; 1 great-grandchild – Sara Jade Wansley Daniels. She also leaves many extended family members whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother – Clifford Donald Singletary, and two husbands, John Beverly Snyder and Willard Leroy Strenth. We are going to have a celebration of life for Wanda on Sunday, April 2 at 2:30 pm at Highlands Hammock State Park. All are welcome to come for a picnic lunch (bring your own sandwiches) at noon. We will be near the playground at a pavilion.
