Wanda Faye Jenkins Norris Pinkerton, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
She was born on May 30, 1942, in Clinton, Tennessee, to the late Hubert Jenkins and Jennie (White) Jenkins Austin. Wanda was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Virginia, and later attended Piedmont Bible College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was there that she met Gary A. Norris. They shared over 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2020.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Wanda was preceded in death by three sisters—Margaret Dukes, Pauline Webb, and Betty Altis—and two brothers, Roger and Ronnie Austin.
She is survived by her husband of two years, James Pinkerton; her son, Joseph M. (Peggy) Norris of Millersville, Maryland; her daughter, Kimberly D. (Tim) Ramsey of Marysville, Ohio; her beloved grandchildren, Seth Ramsey, Elizabeth Arney (Matthew), Emily Petrie (Christopher), and David Norris; and five cherished great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church of Sebring, Florida. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
