Wanda Marie Harrelson, born on February 15, 1943, in Miami, Florida, peacefully passed away on October 11, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. She was 81 years old. Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late Lonnie and Roberta Anderson and was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Anderson.
Wanda married Charles R. Harrelson on December 9, 1962. Both Charles and Wanda were devoted to each other from the beginning. They never took each other for granted and always made sure the other was happy in life. Charles devoted his life to Wanda in sickness and health, making sure she was always taken care of for long-term existence. He took care of her like no other. They were as one enjoying the company of each other no matter what they were doing. They were a testament on what it truly means to be in love till death do us part and a true inspiration to their family.
Wanda spent her early years in Clewiston, Florida, before moving to Sebring in 2006, where she built a loving home and life with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles R. Harrelson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship for 61 years. She leaves behind her three cherished daughters: Deborah Harrelson of Sebring, FL; Christina Harrelson McGann (Mark) of Sebring, FL; and DeeDee Marie Harrelson Absher (Terry) of Alabama. Wanda’s love extended to her eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Wanda’s life was full of warmth, strength, and joy. She had a passion for tennis and bowling and was a proud member of a local bowling league. She loved to travel, with Las Vegas being a favorite destination. An animal lover, she adored her fur babies, her cherished cats and dogs who brought her great joy throughout her life.
Above all, Wanda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a constant source of strength, love, and dependability for her family. Her children fondly remember her as a nurturing and fun-loving mother who always found time for them. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories, including the formation of "Granny’s Kids Club," a fort-building adventure with Britnee, Meghan, Christopher, and Richard. Together, they built not just a club, but a legacy of love and playfulness that will be remembered for generations.
Wanda will be remembered for her kind-hearted and fun-loving spirit, her beauty inside and out, and her dedication to her family. Her legacy of love, care, and joy lives on in the many lives she touched.
