Wanda May Farmer, age 96, of Sebring, Florida, passed on July 18, 2014 at her home in Sebring, FL. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sylvester W. Farmer in 1990. She is survived by her five children, David W. Farmer (Barbara), James L. Farmer (Marianne), Janice A. Black (Don), Colleen M. Jones (Wayne) and William C. Farmer (Mitzi). She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Wanda was a wonderful homemaker and wife. Her family will never forget her homemade bread, still warm from the oven, with her delicious spaghetti and meatballs or her delectable pies, just to name a few. No one was ever made to feel unwelcome in her home and she gave the best hugs ever! She was our Mother, our confidante and our source of love and family and we were blessed to have her in our lives for such a great many years. She will be missed by family and friends alike and we are greatly saddened by the loss. Her faith was strong and we know she is in the arms of our Lord and for this knowledge we rejoice. Services will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home-Sebring on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am. Burial will take place at a later date with family only in Bushnell Veterans Cemetery where she will be placed next to our father.
