Walter Edwin Tate

Walter Edwin Tate, born June 23, 1925 to Walter Henry and Essie Tate of Richmond, Virginia, died March 14, 2013. Possessing a true servant's heart, Walter served the Lord as a missionary in Trinidad and Tobago 1957-1966, as well as supporting his church family in the communities where he has lived. Walter has been a member of Walker Seventh Day Adventist Church in Avon Park, Florida since moving there in 1995. Walter was an amateur poet and singer in several barbershop quartets. Preceded in death (2004) by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Rae Lewis Tate and by his son (2013) Walter Randall Tate. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hayes, daughter, Sheri Hoff, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Adventist Community Services.
