WALTER EVANS Walter Evans, 92, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010, at his home. He was born March 31, 1918, to Joseph and Frances (Craft) Evans in Newburgh, New York, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2002, coming from Davie, FL via New York State. He was a carpenter in the construction industry and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #19 of Newburgh and the Sportsmans Field and Stream Club (Rod and Gun Club). He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Armored Division stationed at Fort Knox, KY during World War II. Walter enjoyed racing homing pigeons, hunting, fishing, bee keeping, gardening and playing Paranaque and was a member of Gardner Town Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Norma Perez- Evans of Sebring; his daughter, Joan (Frank) Ladue of Santa Rosa, TX; son, Robert (Carol) Evans of Wallkill, NY; 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three of his five children, son Jimmy; daughter Nancy and son Walter. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, at Tanglewood Clubhouse, Pastor Ken Thoreson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Nu-Hope Elder Care Services, Inc., 6414 U.S. 27 South, Sebring, FL 33876.
