Walter Lee Coley

Walter L. Coley, age 83 passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Coley was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Arnold and Georgeanner (Hamilton) Coley. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Firefighter from Washington DC and retired after 15 years of service. Walter was a member of the Highlands County Grape Growers Association, former Master Gardner, member of the First Christian Church of Sebring (Disciples of Christ) and a resident of Avon Park since 1998 coming from Suitland, Maryland. He is survived by his wife of 58 years-Anna R. Coley of Avon Park, Florida; children-Pamela Coley of Suitland, Maryland, Sandra Keaton (Barry) of Ellicott City, Maryland and Walter Coley, Jr. (Terri) of Clinton, Maryland; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; grandchildren-Walter C. Keaton, Courtney Keaton and Bryan Coley all of Maryland. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Norton officiating. Burial will be Washington National Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
