VIRGINIA DEAN THORNE Virginia Dean Thorne, 93, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Sebring. She was born January 11, 1918, to Daniel David and Elizabeth (VanNest) Dean in Plainfield, New Jersey, and had been a resident of Florida since 1968, moving to Avon Park from Broward County in 1982. She was a homemaker and member of Avon Park Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her husband, Joseph G. Thorne of Avon Park; sons, Joseph G. (Linda) Thorne, II of Jasper, GA and Daniel Dean (Marcia) Thorne of Jesup, GA; sister, Thora Diso of New Hope, PA; four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
