VIRGINIA M. McDANIEL Virginia M. McDaniel, 91 of Avon Park, FL passed away on Friday, January 10th at Good Shepherd Hospice after a long illness. Born July 2, 1922 in Gatewood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Pearl Clower. Virginia was retired from JC Penny and was a faithful member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church where she was the assistant teacher in the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, served on the Finance Committee, Chairman of Counting Committee, member of Women on Mission ,where she held several offices and was a resident of Avon Park since 1979 coming from Springfield, Oh. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Mack" McDaniel, two step-sons, Richard and Bill, two brothers, Bernie and Archie Clower and four sisters. Mary Simpkins, Minnie Aliff, Margaret Christian and Jo Blake. She is survived by her son, Robert McDaniel of Avon Park, three sisters, Mildred Clower of St. Albans, WV, Cam Simpkins of Chewelah, WA and Meta Evans and husband Jim of West End, NC, her sister-in-law, Vera Clower of Grass Lake, MI, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14th at 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with the Rev. George Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd., Sebring FL 33870 or Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church.
