Virginia Elizabeth Fisher went to be with her Lord on September 12, 2015 at the age of 97. Ginny, as most of all her friends knew her, was born on October 20, 1917 in Scituate, Massachusetts to the late Daniel and Suzie (Dyer) Vines. She had three brothers, who all preceded her in death, Fred, Henry and Wes. Ginny graduated from Scituate High School and then went on to graduate Salutatorian with a BS in Physical Education, from Boston University. Upon graduation, Ginny taught at Scituate High School and coached many sports including women's basketball. As a coach in basketball her record was 58-0 and won several New England Championships playing in Madison Square Gardens in Boston. Ginny was a 3 handicap in golf at one time and played in the first women's open and was a great friend of Louise Suggs. Ginny played golf until the age of 87 and was well known in Central Florida golf for many years. At the age of 83 she carded a 78. She loved and watched all sports. During WWII, Ginny helped as a civilian volunteer by watching the coast line south of Boston looking for German ships and submarines. She also worked deciphering coded German messages. She lost her fiancée during the war who was part of the Dolittle raid that bombed Tokyo. After the war, Ginny moved to Florida in 1950 and worked as a manager of a transistor plant. In 1961 she moved to Sebring. She worked for the State of Florida testing for burrowing nematodes in 1960's. From 1970 to 1984 she worked for HRS and retired as supervisor of nursing home care for 5 counties. Ginny is survived by three sons, Francis "Chip" Stanley Neptune, Peter Blair Neptune and step-son Thomas Charles Fisher (Diane) and Wesley Charles Fisher (Brandy), grandchildren, Yvonne Ring (John) and children: Stephanie and James, Ginger Nunn, Nicky Dickerson and children: Keira and Aiyana, and Savana Tate Fisher, Teddy Charles Fisher, Thomas Charles Fisher and Lee Hinote, sixteen great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, Dick and Diane Vines and son, Rick, Woody and Pat Vines and children: Pat and Parks Brewer (both deceased) and their children: Craig Brewer, Jeff Brewer, Clay Brewer, Whit Brewer (Laura) and children: Hunter, Jessie, Adan and Anna Beth, Stacy Brewer Adams (David) and children: Hillary, Reagan and Wesley. There will be a celebration of life at a later date not yet determined. Anyone wishing to donate, please give to Hospice and Nuhope. To all that knew her she was tough to the end and fought the good fight. She had a great life and lived it fully. She was truly loved by all and was part of the Greatest Generation.
