VINCENT LEROY FOX Vincent Leroy Fox, 89, of Sebring, FL, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. Born April 27, 1921 in Beaver Center, PA, he was the son of Arthur Delbert Fox and Mary Ann Bishop Fox. Vincent graduated from Jefferson High School, Jefferson, OH in May, 1939 and enrolled at Kent State University in Kent, OH in September, 1939. After Japans attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet. He became the navigator on the B-17G Flying Fortress High Voltage and was assigned to the 95th Bomb Group (H), 335th Squadron, flying 25 bombing missions, including the first daylight bombing of Berlin. Foxy was awarded the following Military decorations: European Service Medal; Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters; 4 battle stars; Distinguished Flying Cross; Purple Heart; Presidential Unit Citation, 95th Bomb Group for successful daylight raids on strategic German military targets. When discharged, he held the rank of Captain. He graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree on June 8, 1946. He immediately enrolled at Ohio State University College of Law and received his Ju8ris Doctor degree on December 17, 1948. He was sworn in and admitted to practice as an Attorney and Counselor of Law in the State Courts of Ohio on March 23, 199. He practiced law in Jefferson. He married Elizabeth Anne Koenreich, of Canton, Ohio on June 24, 1951. They lived in Jefferson until retiring to Highlands County, Florida in the early 1980s. Elizabeth preceded him in death in December, 1995. He served as President of the Ashtabula County Bar Association and was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association for over thirty years. In 1971, he was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Jefferson, Ohio, where he held all offices, including President. Vince was a faithful churchman and member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Ohio, where he served as Lay Moderator, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Adult choir member, Chairman of the Board of Finance and Chairman of the Pulpit Committee. Vincent is survived by his sisters, Margaret June Fox Weirich of Deltona, Florida and Nina Mae Fox Kenyon of Jeromesville, Ohio and by his children and their spouses: David and Mary Ann Fox of Gainesville, Fl and Mary and Timothy Philomeno of Federal Way, Washington. He also has three grandchildren: Erin Marie Philomeno of Federal Way, Washington; Darrel Vincent Fox of Gainesville, Florida and Amy Damaris Fox of Gainesville, FL. He is also survived by her friend and caregiver Rachel Green of Sebring. Calling hours will be at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida. Vinces wish was that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Jefferson, 85 West Jefferson St., Jefferson, OH 44047, or to Spring Lake Presbyterian Church in Sebring.
