Verlin P Kempf

Verlin P. Kempf, age 88, of Avon Park, Fl. passed away   on Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Orlando, Fl.  Verlin was born on August 7, 1931 in Shelby, Oh. to parent’s Henry and Adelia (Verhoff) Kempf. Verlin retired from the phone company where he worked as a lineman and became a resident of Avon Park in 1995. Verlin enjoyed music and was a musician and also enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He is survived by his wife Ruby, sons- Ben (April) Kempf, Mel Kempf,  Tom (Crystal) Kempf all of OH, and daughter Verlinda (Gerry) Strack of IN., sisters- Agnes Gerster of Shelby, OH., Ruth Muth, Cary, N.C.-brother- Allan (Patricia) Kempf, Shelby, OH,  and sister-in-law Phyllis Kempf of Shelby, OH, 15 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 2-Great, Great Grandchildren. Verlin was predeceased by both parents, his first wife Elizabeth (Derrow) Kempf, sister Thelma Hummel and brother’s Harold, Howard, Kenneth and Sylvester. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 111 E. Circle Street, Avon Park, Fl. with the family receiving friends at 11:00 a.m. for visitation with funeral services following at noon. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
