VERA ELLEN TUBBS CRIBBS Vera Ellen Tubbs Cribbs, age 90, passed into the loving arms of Jesus at Southern Lifestyle ALF in Lake Placid, FL on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. She was born October 2, 1921 to Arthur and Pattie Posey Tubbs in Jasper, AL. Living in Sebring, FL since the age 4, Vera was a graduate of Sebring High School and a lifelong member of the Sebring Church of Christ. She was a housewife, partner with her husband in the caladium business and owner of the Shoe Box shoe store in Sebring for many years. Vera is survived by her husband of 69 years - William "Ebert" Cribbs of Sebring, FL; Daughters - Sherry Trombley of Lake Placid, FL; Patricia Diana (Paul) of Atlanta, MI; Brother - Leon Tubbs (Ruth) of Sebring, FL; Sister - Ozella Allison of Sebring, FL; she is the beloved Grandmother of Sharlyn Cruse, Ebert Weaver, Shawn Cruse (Linda), Jacques Trombley (Tonya); and five Great Grandchildren - Jaclyn and Joseph Kerigan, Bailee and Shelby Cruse, and Jordis Trombley. She is the Aunt and Great Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Lake Placid Church of Christ, 1069 U.S. 27 North, Lake Placid, FL 33852 or Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.
