Vaughn M. Campbell

VAUGHN M. CAMPBELL Vaughn M. Campbell, 86, of Sebring, passed away Tuesday, Mar. 2, 2010 at The Palms. Vaughn was born July 18, 1923 in Rimersburg, PA, the elder son of the late Wallace and Olive Morris Campbell. He was a graduate of California State Teachers College, California, PA, and received his masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. He retired in 1983 as Superintendent of the Shaler Area School District where he had held numerous positions. He was a 60 year member of the Masons, the Gourgas Lodge of Perfection and Syria Temple, the VFW of Glenshaw, PA., and a life member of the PSEA and the NEA, a naval veteran of World War II, a former member of Sun N Lake Golf Club, and a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Sebring. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Nola, daughter, Linda A. of Istanbul, Turkey, son, Vaughn R. of Pittsburgh, PA, brother, Thomas (Shirley) of Ft. Myers, FL, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at The First Presbyterian Church of Sebring at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Darrell Peer officiating.
