For this she was awarded from the state of Indiana, the Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Evan Byah.
She worked for the Elkhart answering service for many years handling emergency calls for fire, ambulance and medical services. She was a volunteer for hospice, an avid flower gardener, crocheter, knitter, embroiderer and enjoyed her porch swing amongst her beautiful yard. However, above all, Mae was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. In keeping with Mae’s wishes there will not be a public funeral or memorial service. She devoted her entire life to doing for and helping others. The next time you see a beautiful flower, or you’re relaxing on a porch swing, Mom/Grandma will be there too.
