Tony Washington Thompson

Tony Washington Thompson, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Avon Park, FL on May 13, 1941 to Osbin and Eva (Meeks) Thompson. Tony was an area manager for Country Hearth, Buttercrust, and IBC Bread Companies, served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne from 1959 to 1962, attended Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, liked to ride motorcycles, loved guns and loved his family. He was a lifelong resident of Avon Park. He is survived by his wife - Mildred Jeanette Thompson, Avon Park, FL; Son - Tony Lee Thompson (Kristin), Sebring, FL; Sister - Cynthia Smith (Kenneth), Avon Park, FL; 2 Grandchildren; and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister - Dot LaFlam and brother - Gene Thompson. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall and Pastor Gary Kindle officiating. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church Building Fund.
