Thomas J. Nolan passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 84. He was born on June 11, 1939 in County Clair Ireland. Thomas left Ireland and went to England to live with his stepsister, Carmel. He joined the British Airborne as a Medic and Paratroopers for 4 years and later worked for British Caledonia Airlines as a head cashier at Gatwick Airport. He met the love of his life, Carol Houck on March 17, 1971 (St. Patrick’s Day) on Canary Island. Thomas married Carol on December 29, 1971 in Rochester, NY. He worked as a data processor in computers for Eastman Kodak and IBM. He retired from IBM in 1993. Tom’s hobbies included tennis, pickleball and BOCCE. He enjoyed dancing, music, and playing the harmonica. He performed at the yearly Buttonwood Bay Spring Fest. Thomas and Carol lived in Hilton, NY from 1971-1985 and from 1985-2016 they lived in South Dansville, NY. They were snowbirds from 2000-2016 residing in Buttonwood Bay Community in Sebring, FL. becoming full time residents from 2016 to present. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Carol; daughter, Tanya Maria Saltis (David) of Murrieta, CA. Also surviving is one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel Erich Nolan. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM, until service time at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Sebring Christian Church with Pastor Cecil Hess and Tod Schwingel to officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the Change of Pace Day Program for people suffering dementia. Donations may be made at the Sebring Christian Church on Hammock Road.
