THOMAS A. McCONNELL Thomas A. McConnell, 83, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at his home. He was born February 18, 1928, to Louis and Lilly (Plummer) McConnell in Clinton, Indiana, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1997, coming from Clinton. He was a Supervisor at Ely Lilly and Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 69, where he served as the Sergeant-at-Arms and was named Legionnaire of the Year for 2005-2006. He was also a former member of the 40 and 8. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty A. McConnell of Sebring; sons, Michael McConnell, Princeton, IN and Thomas McConnell, Clinton, IN; daughter, Nancy (Quentin) Ave, Clinton, in; sister, Jackie Mautino, Clinton, IN; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillie Partain and Ethel McConnell and brothers, Robert McConnell and John Newkirk.
