Thomas Milton Altman, aged 90, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. Born on September 3, 1935, in Bartow, Florida, to Marvin "Doc" and Olivia Altman, Thomas led a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for both family and community.
Thomas spent his early years growing up in the close-knit communities of Wauchula and Homestead before entering high school. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, reflecting a deep sense of duty and commitment. After completing his military service, Thomas focused on his education, attending the University of Florida, and officially becoming a proud Florida Gator. Thomas devoted the majority of his life to his profession as a Certified Public Accountant, where he was known for his integrity, diligence, and valuable contributions to the many organizations he served.
Thomas was more than an accomplished professional; he embraced an active lifestyle. Known for his zest for life, he traveled, exploring new locations with enthusiasm and curiosity. His parents' love of camping and hunting fostered in him a strong connection to the outdoors. As an outdoorsman, Thomas excelled in various sports, particularly enjoying golf, hunting, and fishing. His sporting skills were well-known among friends and family, who admired his enthusiasm and talent alike.
A devoted member of the St Agnes Episcopal Church of Sebring, Florida, Thomas’s faith was a central and cherished part of his life. His participation and love for the church community reflected his values of fellowship and service.
Thomas’s legacy is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Linda Altman; daughter, Karen Altman; and two nephews, Mark Altman and Steven Altman. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dwain Altman.
Throughout his life, Thomas Milton Altman touched many with his kindness, dedication, and spirited approach to life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
