Theodore Harry Best

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore (Ted) Best, 89 years of age which occurred on September 7th, 2024.

He attended the University of Florida, he was an avid Gator fan and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. In 1954 he married Patricia Hammond, they were married for 70 wonderful years.  He was a business owner for over 60 years.  His interest in politics lead him to run for city council in Oakland Park, FL and he was a councilman for many years.  He was a member of Avon Park Rotary. His leisurely activities included golf, home construction and enjoying time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Theodore (Ted) will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia Ann (Pat), father of three children; Chuck Best (Donna), Teddi Best Keefer (Kent) and David Best (Trish) and grandfather of Kim Best Zahller, Julie Best, Chuck Best Jr., Kristin Dilley Lockwood, Andy Dilley, Brandi Best and Zach Best.  Great grandfather to Seth, Bailey, Aaron, Connor, Aiden, Noelle, Parker and Emerson.

His personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered, and his passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.  Ted’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him.
His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his kind heartedness, generosity and unforgettable spirit.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, 1:00 p.m. at St. John Methodist Church, 33631 Grand Prix Dr., Sebring, FL, 33872.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the new sanctuary building fund at St. John Methodist Church.
