Thelma Gladys Helmke

Thelma Wesley Helmke, 89, of Lake Placid, FL, formerly of Kimball Twp. St. Clair County, Michigan, passed away on September 9, 2012. She was born on November 25, 1923 in St. Clair, MI, daughter of the late Wellington and Gladys Arnold. Thelma married William Walter Wesley in April 1946. Mr. Wesley passed away in September 1989. Thelma married Robert Helmke in August 1991. For many years Thelma owned a beauty shop on Griswold Road in Kimball Twp. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved the Book of Mormon and enjoyed traveling. Thelma is survived by her husband, Robert Helmke, Lake Placid, FL; daughter, Kathleen Garrett (Ray) of Saline, MI; son, William Wesley (Rose) of Alamosa, CO; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Armstrong and Margaret Stumpf (Bob); and several nieces and nephews.
