Terry B. Wiggins

Theresa (Terry) Doris Barrett, age 88, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Sebring, FL. She was born September 24th, 1926 in Colchester, VT. The daughter of Edward Barrett and Anna LaFond Barrett. She had three brothers: Raymond, Ralph, and Robert; also three sisters: Margaret, Mildred, and Helen, all deceased. Her family moved to Sebring, FL in 1939 where she attended high school. The family moved to Jacksonville in 1943. She met Charles H. Wiggins in 1948 and they were married in Folkston, GA on September 29, 1949. Her husband, Charles started work with the Army Corp of Engineers in 1951. They lived in towns throughout Florida and Porto Rico. Her husband, Charles worked as a hydrographic surveyor, dredging inspector, and a construction rep. They have one daughter, Sandra, born in 1959. They moved to Homestead, FL in 1961 and bought a home. Terry and her husband helped establish the Naranja Park Baptist Church near Homestead. Terry went to work with the U.S. Air Force at Homestead Air Force Base in 1972 until 1987 when she retired. Her husband retired in 1982 and they moved to Sebring, FL in 1988 to spend their retirement years. Terry is a charter life member of the Avon Park VFW Post 9853 Ladies Auxiliary. A memorial services will be held at a later date.
