Terry Price

Terry Price entered heaven on Friday, October 25, 2019 surrounded by family as they shared stories of thanksgiving, read and quoted scripture, and sang songs about the wonderful grace of their Savior. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Alice; two brothers, Ron and Don Price; and a sister, Sandy Schwartz.

Terry Price was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was born again at the age of eight while attending Camp Sankanac in Spring City, PA and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church of Lansdale, PA.  His ministry began as the first youth pastor in his home church (1968-1971).

He graduated with two bachelor’s degrees (Bible and Christian Education and Secondary Education-History) from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, MN.  He holds an MA in Christian Education from Central Baptist Seminary in Minneapolis and an EdD in Christian Education from Temple Baptist Seminary in Chattanooga, TN.

From 1971 to 1984 he ministered at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College as a dean, Bible and History teacher, and football coach.  From 1984 to 2013 he ministered at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, WI as a dean, football coach, athletic director, and Bible and Church Ministry department head and professor.  He led three football team mission trips to France, Ireland and Israel.  He was an assistant pastor for three years at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, WI and also served four interim pastorates in area churches.

Students learned to follow his model of service as he emphasized “Take the Towel and Serve” from John 13:14.  He rejoiced in seeing former students and football players serving God faithfully.  He loved III John 4 and took great joy in seeing his former players and students walk faithfully with the Lord.

In the fall of 2016 he became senior pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring, FL, and was serving there until the time of his promotion to heaven.  He dearly loved the people he was called to serve, and generally that was true throughout his entire life of ministry.

Terry is survived by Colene, his wife of 51 years; son Steve and wife Jodie of Tallahassee; son Phil and wife Kathleen of Watertown, WI; son Andrew (Oz) and wife Heidi of Woodstock, GA;  9 grandchildren; and one brother, Barry and wife June of Milton, TN.

He is dearly missed by all the family and the Maranatha Village community, but they rejoice that he is with his Savior and Lord.  We grieve, but not as those without hope, as we know he is experiencing “Victory in Jesus” forever (I Thessalonians 4:13).

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Maranatha Baptist University, North Florida Christian School (football program), Woodstock Wolverine Touchdown Club (Players in Prayer Bible Study), or Maranatha Manor (Maranatha Baptist Church).
