Tabitha L. Nilsen

Tabitha L. Nilsen, born January 9, 1987, in Hialeah, Florida, to Charles Nilsen and Jackeline Grupy, passed away on September 20, 2024, in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 37.

Tabitha’s life was one filled with love and compassion. A devoted and loving mother, she cherished her time with her two children, Susie Locklear and Benjamin Cortez, whom she loved deeply. She also leaves behind her parents, Charles Nilsen & Rhonda DeGroft and Jackeline Grupy, her siblings Charles Nilsen Jr., Stephanie Baker, Haylee Nilsen, Dakota Nilsen, and Ryan DeGroft.

At an early age, Tabitha moved with her family to Lake Placid, FL from Miami in 1991. She dedicated her professional life to serving others, working in home healthcare, where her kind and caring nature touched the lives of many. Her ability to provide comfort and care to those in need was a testament to her gentle spirit.

In her personal time, Tabitha enjoyed listening to music and found joy in spending time with her friends. Known for her warm and fun-loving personality, she brought laughter and light to those around her. Whether it was with family or friends, Tabitha’s presence was always felt and appreciated by those who knew her.

Tabitha will be remembered for her big heart, her generosity, and the love she gave so freely to those in her life. Her kindness and care for others will leave a lasting legacy.  She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
