Susan Ellen Balzer

Susan Ellen Balzer, 64, of Sebring, FL, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. She was born on October 9, 1960, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Lawrence and Madeline Doherty.

Susan spent most of her life in Cincinnati before making Sebring her home three years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph J. Balzer; her children, David Pilot (Priscilla) of Brookville, IN, and Spencer Wright (Ricki Collett) of Sebring, FL; her stepchildren Emily Balzer (Pat Compton) of Cincinnati, OH, Missy Balzer (Josh Moore) of Cincinnati, OH, and Joe C. Balzer (Ashley) of Cincinnati, OH, and her brothers, Larry, Robert, Dennis, and John Doherty. She was a proud and loving grandmother to ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brian Pilot, and her siblings Tim Doherty and Kathy Doherty.

Susan was a proud member of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of  Eagles. She found joy in cooking and crafting, always bringing creativity and warmth to those around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susan’s name to Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, honoring her memory and the compassionate care she received.

Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
