Steven Mark Nickel, Sr.

Steven Mark Nickel, Sr., of Avon Park, FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 62. He was a Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandpop.

Steven was born on October 24, 1959, to Parents James and Patricia Nickel in Naples, FL.  He graduated from Lely High School where he was known as an All-Star Football Running Back. In 1976 he began dating his High School Sweetheart Emily Henry. They were voted Class Sweethearts and Prom King and Queen in their senior year in 1978. Steven and Emily were married on September 9, 1978 and went on to have four children.

He owned his own business where he did custom installations of appliances. Steven was active in his local church and served in various ministries. He was a graduate of the New Hope School of Ministries in 2001. His greatest passion after God and Family was his love for fishing. Everyone who knew him would say that he touched their lives. He left a true legacy of unconditional love. Steven was a true and loyal friend and would do anything to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all.

Steven is survived by his Wife – Emily; his Son – Mark (Denise) Nickel; Daughters – Sara (Joe) Simalonda, Cathie Nickel, and Stephanie Nickel; Grandchildren – Isaiah, Kamdyn, Jones, Zaydie, Logan, Charles and a baby boy on the way; Mother – Patricia Nickel Numbers; Brothers – Phil Nickel, Jim (Bonnie) Nickel, and Chris Nickel; Sister – Judie Nickel; and a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 4 pm, at New Hope Ministries, 7675 Davis Blvd Naples, FL 34104.
