Stephen F. Van Ostran

Stephen F. Van Ostran, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 25, 1946, in Miami, Florida to Valerian Estes (Bud) and Helen (Williams) Van Ostran. Steve was a member of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He had been a resident of Avon Park since 1985 coming from Marshallville, GA. A member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, boating, SEC football, and NASCAR. He was past president of the Lions Club. Steve is survived by his wife, Patsy Van Ostran, his mother, Helen Van Ostran, his daughters, Dana Kellis (Paul) and Stephanie Gillotti, his sister, Charlene Schouwenaars (Pete), and his three grandchildren, Nathan Kellis, Lauren Kellis and Kendall Gillotti. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, November 22, 2014, beginning at 2:00pm with Christy Bandy officiating, at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, 2600 N. Highlands Blvd., Avon Park, FL. Entombment will take place immediately following service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL.
