Stephen Eugene Tomek passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Avon Park, Florida at the age of 60. Steve was born on October 27, 1956 in Avon Park, Florida to Edward John and Ruth Elder Tomek. He graduated from Avon Park High School in 1974 and worked in his dad’s Badcock Furniture store. He went to work for Kegel Bowling in 1999 and worked at their manufacturing plant in Lake Wales until he fell ill. Steve will be remembered by many of his bowling buddies as he loved bowling in leagues with his dad and son. Steve is survived by his loving Wife – Sandy; Stephen, II (Mychelle); Daughters – Callie Hutson; Corrie Forman (Rob); step-daughters – Candy Pollard (Chad); Brandy Murphy; Sisters – Becky Johnson (Danny); Sylvia Hayes (Rick); Brother – George; and 12 Grandchildren he adored. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July20, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park, FL with Father Luke McLoughlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 209 North Ridgewood Drive, Sebring, FL 33870.
