Dr. Stanley N. Myers

Dr. Stanley Myers, 96, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Sebring. He was born October 16, 1915, to Harry and Edith (Glenn) Myers in Belleville, Kansas and had been a resident of Sebring since 1993. Dr. Myers was a graduate of the University of Houston with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He served as a missionary with SIM in Nigeria, where he was instrumental in the building of several mission stations, including the Kano Eye Hospital. Dr. Myers was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church in Sebring. He is survived by a nephew, Barry Myers of DeBary, FL and a niece, Dorothy Robarge of Bellevue NB. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, in the S IM Chapel in Sebring, with a Memorial Service to follow at 10:30, Pastor Steve Trinkle officiating. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park will follow the service. Donations may be made in his memory to SIM, 4114 Nigeria St., Sebring, FL 33875, designated for the Kano Eye Hospital.
