Stanley James Marshall

January 22, 1936 — July 23, 2012

Stanley James Marshall passed away at his home in Sebring, Florida with his loved ones by his side on Monday, July 23, 2012. He was raised on a farm in Monroe, Michigan by his grandparents and served in the United States Air Force, where he was a Tech Instructor for hydraulic systems used on various aircraft. He was honorably discharged and then worked for Ford Motor Company 30 years as a Journeyman Hydraulic repairman. He was an avid four season sportsman, hunting deer, turkey and other game and was a member of the Canvas Back Gun Club. He loved to trap turtles with his daughter, Tami, and was an excellent marksman and archer. Stan was a man of many talents and he used those talents to fix or fabricate anything that needed repair. Everything he did was to perfection and was highly organized. He was a deeply devoted husband and always provided for his family. He moved to Sebring, Florida in 1997 and became an avid model aircraft radio control flyer and was a member of the American Legion Post 0069 in Avon Park, Florida. He leaves behind his true love and soul partner, Eva Marshall; children, Tami S. Gerity and Michael F. Gerity of Delta, Ohio; Denise Hoctor (Richard) of Grand Junction, CO; Scott Marshall (Polly); Jeffrey Marshall (Holly); Dave Marshall (Dawn); Sharon Hopper (Duane) and Mark Dahl, all of Monroe, MI. His devoted grandchildren Matthew Wilhelm and Sarah Wilhelm will miss him greatly as their grandfather and best friend. He had eight additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends at Hammock Estates. A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon at the Club House at Hammock Estates following the service.
