Shirley Marie LaCount

Shirley M. LaCount, former resident of Sebring FL, died May 2, 2026, in Lake Placid FL where she was a resident at Southern Lifestyle Senior

Living.

Shirley was born June 2, 1933, to Ben and Lil (Kinstetter) Sipiorski in Algoma WI. After high school graduation Shirley moved to Green Bay WI. She worked as a telephone operator and then at Ligman Packing where she met Ray LaCount. They were married in June 1955.

Shirley and Ray settled in Green Bay within walking distance to the Green Bay Packers Lambeau Field Stadium and lived in the same neighborhood as quarterback Bart Starr. Shirley worked for over 30 years as a receptionist at the Green Bay office of National Cash Register. The couple traveled extensively and made many friends while on cruises. In her spare time Shirley crafted hundreds of one-of-a-kind, beaded and sequined Christmas ornaments.

Upon retirement in 1991, Shirley and Ray moved to Sebring FL. The couple enjoyed hosting dinner parties, playing cards and attending theater performances. Shirley also spent time volunteering as a library assistant, grade school teacher’s aide, food pantry helper, election poll worker, and was a regular dining room hostess for Friday night dinners at the Elks Club. For 26 years they spent two months each summer as senior residents at St. Norbert’s College in DePere WI.

When Ray passed away in 2018, Shirley moved to Lake Placid. She is also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl Sipiorski. Survivors include brother, Larry (Mary) Sipiorski of Stevens Point WI; nephew, Justin Sipiorski of Waupaca WI; and niece, Kathryn Schabel of Portland OR.
