Shirley Faye Higgins

Shirley Faye Higgins, age 64, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on September 6, 1950 in Sebring, Florida to the late Charles D. and Audrey A. (Hill) Roberts. Shirley graduated from Sebring High School in 1968. She was employed by Highlands County School Board as Operations Manager. She was a former member of Lorida Baptist Church, a member of the Red Hatter's; and Executive Director of Florida Association for Student Transportation. Survivors include her husband: Jack Higgins of Sebring, FL, daughters: Tonya (Clay) Colquitt and Heidi (Chad) Yarbrough all of Sebring, FL, sons: David (Carrie) Johnson of Alva, FL and Jack Higgins, Jr. of Dunedin, FL, sisters: Mildred (Ervin) Robinson of Jasper, AL; Frances Tull of Lake Placid, FL; brother: Bo Roberts of Moore Haven, FL, and four grandchildren: Tyler Colquitt, Jackson Colquitt, Austin Yarbrough, and Ariel Higgins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, 11:00am, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Mike Hill officiating. She will be laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2015, 6:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home.
