Shirley A. Fehl

Shirley Esther was born on June 29, 1935, the third child to Paul and Laurel Ardelean in Dearborn, Michigan. She came to know the Lord at the age of six and gave her life to missions when she was 12 while attending Bible Camp. Shirley graduated from Wayne-Westland High School in 1952, Bryan College in 1956 with a BA in History, and Eastern Michigan University with an MA in Education. Shirley married Larry on July 2, 1957 in Westland, Michigan. They later joined SIM in 1961 and served at Igbaja Bible College and Seminary from 1962-1978. Shirley taught Junior High in Texas and taught English and was the bookkeeper at Igbaja Bible College and Seminary. She also served as Assistant to the Director in Jos from 1978-1982 and as Assistant to the Personnel Director in SIM, USA from 1982-2008.“Just Ask Shirley!” Shirley enjoyed sewing clothing for her family and opening her home to guests wherever they lived. She was a sports enthusiast and became quite competitive at family table games. Larry and Shirley have three daughters; Jan Loveland (Robert), Wendy Kordus (Raymond) and Cindy Puzey (Glenn), eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
