Sherman P. Wantz

Sherman P. Wantz, 94, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Sebring. He was born April 7, 1919, to Sherman E. and Marie Christine (Seiland) Wantz in Baltimore, Maryland, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1971, coming from Maryland. He was a Retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, serving during World War II and was of the Christian faith. Sherman was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Emily F. Wantz and is survived by his daughters, Sara M. Reynolds, Nottingham, MD and Frances V. Childress, Sparks, MD; brothers, Russell C. Wantz, Maryland and Robert V. Wantz, Michigan; sister, Helen M. Dawson, Maryland; two grandchildren, Lauri and Tom and three great-grandchildren, Kristin, Jessica and Cameron. Graveside Service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd., Sebring, FL 33870.
