Sherman Mack "Slim" Hicks, age 70, of Sebring, Florida formerly of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Saturday March 25, 2017 at Florida Hospital in Sebring. Slim was born in Batesville, MS on February 14, 1947 to Alfred and Lucille (Ford) Hicks. He was a member of UAW 685, Moose and Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and casinos. He formally worked at 7-Up Bottling Company in Kokomo then Chrysler where he retired after 30 years. After retirement he hauled camping trailers in Indiana and palm trees in Florida. Survivors include his significant other: Libby Riddle; two sons: Terry (Stacy) Hicks-Kokomo, IN, Brian Hicks-Bunker Hill, IN; five grandchildren: Tony Galloway-Anderson, IN, Paige Hicks-Riceville, TN, Oakley Hicks-Riceville, TN, Cody Hicks-Bunker Hill, IN, Trevor Hicks-Kokomo, IN; two great-grandchildren: Hunter Hicks and Riley Hicks of Riceville, TN; one sister: Ethel Huston. He was preceded in death by his father, mother; brothers: Jimmy, FM, JP; sister: Mary Cole; and brother-in-law: Wayne Huston. There will be a celebration of life for Slim on Friday, March 31, 2017, 6:00pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with W. Mike Adams officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm.
