Our beloved Sharon Lee Wright moved on to our heavenly father on Tuesday, May 26 th , 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Grand Blanc MI on May 4 th , 1945 to Edsel and Marian (Auker) Walker. Sharon won Leonard's heart in high school and they were married on June 19, 1965. While she precedes him in death, they were a loving couple for over 60 years and will continue to be so throughout eternity. She is survived by her daughter, Darla Wright and grandson Dawson Lee Wright; her son, Thad Wright, who gave them 3 more beautiful grandchildren and 3 adorable great grandchildren; her brother, Lyle Walker and sisters, Pam Coon and Dawn Zacharias. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edsel and Marian Walker and her 8 week old granddaughter, Darby Lenn Wright.
Sharon touched so many lives during her wonderful time with us. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother who was very active in each group and community she found herself in. She regularly attended Faith Tabernacle in Flint MI and was currently attending Whispering Pines Baptist Church in Sebring FL. You could find her in the nursery taking care of the babies or enjoying time with her fellow Aglow sisters. Her heart was always for those that were hurting as well as being the Rock for many blessed people. She was a special needs teacher and helped many people with her loving heart. She also took care of many elderly family members in their own waning years. Sharon and Len spent 30 years participating in Civil Air Patrol where she reached the distinguished level of Lieutenant Colonel. Once they retired, they hit the road as full time RV’ers for 6 years and visited 48 states plus Hawaii! Finding Sebring FL while volunteering for Habitat for Humanity they settled here 19 years ago when she got to relax and enjoy baking with her grandson, learning more crafts and playing her card games. She enjoyed being part of the Orchid Society and volunteering at Advent Health Hospital in Sebring. Her greatest love of all was being with family and friends while creating cherishable memories.
She will be forever adored and is already greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. So let's all be sure to Celebrate Her Life!
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to your local Habitat for Humanity in lieu of flowers. She will be interred in Bougainvillea Cemetery, Avon Park FL at a later date.
