Sharon, affectionately known as “Sheri” died peacefully at home on April 10, 2023, in Avon Park, Florida at the age of 76. She was surrounded by family and pets.

Sheri was born September 3, 1946, in Endicott, New York and spent her childhood in several cities as well as abroad. She graduated from Suitland high school of Maryland in 1964. After high school, she studied Cosmetology and became a master of her craft and an entrepreneur, owning and managing salons in North Virginia for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Madeline “Darlene” and Maj Lloyd King of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She is survived by her daughters Lisa McIntyre Lafay of Ft. Lauderdale Florida and Laura McIntyre of Avon Park, Florida. Also, by sister Tracy MacCornack (Chip) and brother Mark King (Helga). She is the proud grandmother to Petty Officer MMN3 Austin Reece Zebrook of Charleston, South Carolina.

A private burial at sea will be performed by the family and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Sheri’s last wishes included specific details regarding her celebration of life as well as a request to support your local humane society as you see fit. Please be sure to reach out to the family so we may include you in our planning.
