Sharen Rae Kaylor, 82, of Sebring, Florida, entered her eternal home in Heaven on February 12, 2026. Sharen was born November 30, 1943, in Macomb, Illinois to late Donald and Leota (Eyman) Wartick of La Prairie, Illinois. She was a Gold Star daughter, losing her father, in the fall of 1944 during World War II. Sharen graduated High School in Augusta IL. On February 4, 1963, married Earnest “Leroy” Kaylor, and enjoyed 63 blessed years of marriage. Sharen earned her bachelor’s degree and later her master’s degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb IL. She and Leroy began their life together near Carthage, Illinois, farming for over 20 years. They were active members of Denver Christian Church. Sharen was a devoted farmwife and mother. She also worked as a factory employee, substitute teacher, and Hancock County Home Extension and 4-H advisor. She was active in Eastern Star, church youth groups and 4-H clubs. She and Leroy later lived in Beardstown, Illinois, for 19 years, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and active in the Methodist Women’s group. She worked as a teacher’s aide with the Beardstown School District, lovingly helping children learn and grow. In retirement, Sharen and Leroy moved to Sebring, Florida, where they attended Spring Lake United Methodist Church and Highlands Community Church. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, cooking for family, tending her flowers, and making new friends. Above all, she kept God in her heart and daily life. Sharen is survived by her husband, Leroy; two children, Thad (Kathy) Kaylor of Chatham, IL and Stephanie Kaylor Trent, of Sebring FL; grandchildren Ryan, Kelsie, and Maggie; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Louis “Bud” (Arlene) King of Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Kaylor, and her parents. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sebring FL or Gold Star Mission in Springfield IL.A visitation will be held February 28 at Stephen Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida starting at 10 am with a memorial service to follow at 11 am, followed by a time of fellowship, 1 pm to 3 pm at a location to be announced.
